This blog has seemingly dwindled down to a trickle. Not that there will not be more to shovel and the silly season will never be out of season, but we always have a choice as to how much we muck up or how low we get.

Interpretation is difficult, but could it be that given the support of Democrats over Republicans, excellent 3 to 1, and the flip flop of only fair to poor, Dem (40/33) Rep (33/42) that it depends on what is actually being supported. Some Republicans may be against congress for not going their way, while some Democrats may not support congress for not going more their way. It is hard to separate out independents, but it would make sense that given the lack of support for the administration that there be more resistance to the administration.

Gee! I did not realize I would stumble upon an anomaly.
The bottom line is that there is surprising support for Congress, and there should be a line that rates the media and polling. The poll shows congress getting 58 to 38 support (only fair or better to poor with 4 unsure). On the media/poll question it might be interesting to note that Pelosi and Rice are have more support and more unsure, but which might play into the above political non-calculations.

Missing from the poll it seems is anything related to what their jobs are. Not to mention who should have contempt or be in contempt.

Please do what is needed to prevent further crimes by the administration, and failing that, prevent any pardons. Impeachment may be the only way to prevent wholesale escape from justice, but please keep the pressure on.

I truly don't know what could be expanded upon, but there should be a clear contrast and comparing going on by the people and the media. There are three branches of government and then there is the press. Of course justice and the people are part of it, but it does depend upon if you are a "uniter" or a "divider" or just talk. Unfortunately just talk does not mean straight talk or talk alone.

But timing is part of all reality, let alone change.
Hence: Bring it on.

But not just counting on the press here.

Impeachment is not on the table.
Information is being brought to the table.
Alternatives and other measures are also on the table.
Justice is finally appearing before the people.
As well as injustices. Not to mention "representations".

It is not too fine a point to put this, as a
very important if not entertaining event in history,
which the media is not likely to cover as it did during the Watergate era.
But the fine point is that the internet coverage is where the media and the people may be buried. The "media" it must be realized is a word here that has been manipulated in this paragraph, but justice is what you will find manipulated by the media and the people at any table.

And the above tables must not result in information being tabled,
without at least enumeration and verification.

One may wonder where justice comes in. It is found in the constitutional process being used fully to uphold the law and sworn duties of every office. This could therefore be considered a criminal investigation, but primarily an investigation represented by what I believe is the contrast between what Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon claimed. The latter being the law if he says it is, and the former that all impeachments are political. The latter fell and the former excused, but justice should still be pursued. The process must be used even if politics is part of the investigations, for politics to recover esteem and its place for the people.

[The record will be held open for 5 days, according to Conyers, and there seems a lot of room for cross reference and verification, but there is probably no limit to what could appear.]

Not being a regular consumer of his work, I did not have him on a pedestal, but given the nature of the business he was probably the best they could afford. And given the nature of the world, even harder to find one without more of an edge. Maybe as the comments on Kiley have shown.

My suggestion to MSNBC is to fill several pairs of shoes in memory of Russert's work. Not as in trying to fill his shoes, but to uphold his several jobs. It will still be difficult. [Maybe David Bender if not Rachel Maddow could fill one or more of those pairs, but not necessarily that they or GE* would want them to fit.]

I hope to be back to these links, but wish that they did not tie in so well, that more will be following. But I will summarize my feeling that McCain may be just a place holder in a strategy where there is too much to loose not to give it more than he's got, and that plays into the way I see them always playing it.

Meanwhile Obama has "flip-flopped"[**] on the Public Campaign Finance System but faces it in a more honest a principled manner than the media can follow or wishes to follow. While McCain may just be a distraction for a sleeper candidate, they cannot come up with one that should not be asked what he or she would do about holding history accountable.

* GE profits are a picture that may not fit full disclosure journalism, economics or environment, but then I acknowledge I don't fit or have the full picture either. Meaning I have taken digs at them, and it does not mean that profits are above principles or question, but that it is another story.

** The Catch-22 for them not us, but we*** can't help it. "Flip-flop" is a charge that was created by those that fear nuance or the work required to do their jobs or an attempt to do too many jobs or diminish those that see your own flip-flops, which maybe is all they can see, since this has created a loop. [[I did not intend to throw the book at a term, but then we are all about the Catch-44. And then there is the actual records. Not that I want to go there, but that may be one of the reasons we are here, with McCain a candidate, not his record, but the difficulty in facing it all, and the actions/reactions that brings.]]

The precedent I am asking to stop is the loss of precedent, by not just the president, but the judicial branch as well.

But in particular the potential for third party or other candidates being spoilers and brokers, was an attempt to ward off, and prepare for a much later or parsed political process, and while sometimes seemingly satire, it is mostly just trying to run with other's rhetoric and feelings rather than just to rock the boat or the vote.

Speaking of "people who"...

...if you think that this is just tortured rhetoric, then please at least take it as an opportunity to investigate the tortured rhetoric of the administration, not to mention the GOP. Otherwise the constitution is just a don't ask, don't tell policy and congress can just go back to a closet.

Not that there is anything wrong with closets. But just because congress has such a high "wrong direction" rating, does not mean that rating does not tell them which way to go. Of course some of the 80% may want more of the same *. But many of them will be there when you go the right direction which in this case is left or we will be left behind.

On Democracy Now the resignation of Admiral Fallon is noted in context. Could it be that distraction is the case for both? * [Ferraro Flap]

The governor resigns so that there hopefully will be less distraction from the job of governing, while the admiral resigns so there will be less distraction from the game of war. Unfortunately investigations are needed into the procedures of both, the selective prosecutions and use of intelligence. Could it be that Fallon wanted to play the hand that is dealt instead of the game of bluff with the wrong cards? My point to the last two posts [Oh what a weave...*** ]are that there be more focus on the differences between Democrats and Republicans in governing and war.

The above link supports much of what I have noted in this blog in the last 7 years, and a few I missed. It follows a pattern of preemption that if leaked, actually caused a preemption cycle of its own. An important question is, how long has this been the policy of this ship of state, and how long has it been leaking. These are not mountains out of mole hills, but trickle down by passing the buck. Investigations must begin, while shoring up the process of accountability. It is not too early to begin the work of transition. But never too late to join a tide of change. And if this metophor seems to imply a washing away, or just another cycle... true. Things will wash a away, but people will still be the point, not the boats and the driftwood.

Please consider the impact of doing nothing or just doing what is more immediate.
Please consider the meaning of words and the spirit of so many that have fought for so much that so many still do not have. Yes your focus is on your local constituents, and they are struggling in so many ways, and fighting in so many causes. Well, some of us are really doing just fine and dandy, but please...

It is really ironic that so much of our current difficulty is caused by some who believe in another timeliness. Not only in the hereafter, but somehow in the preemptive. Well they both may have a reality, but that does not mean which our actions will feed.

I humbly suggest that anyone with doubts about starting a process that is about justice, read "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" and wonder what is the alternative?

All people must not only know that there is a line which they should not cross, but know where it is, to know if they have. Not to mention needing to know where the line is, to be able to cross it, as sometimes that is the only way justice reaches the table. The administration knows this, and the legislature and the media should hear it from the people.

As it usually is with my presentations, they evolve, and I hope that this is as clear as I feel. The point which I am making is that there are consequences, whether there is truth, and there is preemption, but results have accountability, whether we look for them or like them or not.

What brings these links together? The first three are about investigations into recent history, while the last, "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" is timely. I say this, no tongue-in-cheek, in that it is the subject (timing) that links these pursuits of justice.

Is there a better time to stand for justice or is there ever a time it is too late?
And if we are not standing for justice, just where will we sit? This may be rhetorical, but what is the alternative? At a recent progressive event, with a progressive crowd and a progressive speaker, the speaker replied to some issue, "The people will not stand for that." Does that mean the time for not standing has come? I humbly suggest that anyone with doubts about starting a process that is about justice, read "Letters from a Birmingham Jail" and wonder what is the alternative?

I am not comparing the courage of those that wish to begin this process with those of the past, but the lack of courage to proceed to bring light to the process is as harmful to justice and is a neglect of each branch of government's job and their oaths for which they stand. And the press is doing a 'heckuva job" as well.

Even Martin Luther King Jr. comments on the time he takes from his reader with his letter, but he says earlier: "We must come to see that human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability." He says a lot more if you have the time, but it is never too late, or is it? Apparently some argue so, but we must not just move on.

For those who miss the point, violations of law must face consequences and too few have even the courage to shine a light. [In describing this article, if it reaches that level, I point out: The Dream is Justice! Sent by author, To Whom It May Concern. Checks and Balances. Civil Disobedience. Letting our representatives know that the law must be enforced so that it can not be preempted at will, let alone enforced preemptively. It is the gap in the logic here that points to the disconnect between intention and cause and effect. Yet these guys had the intelligence to decide to review a National Intelligence Estimate? One thing they are expert on is gaps, and I guess they are good at filling them or leaping them.]
